The Cord Jacket That Went Viral
ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA – It was the jacket that local St. Paul resident Anders Bloomquist and his friends could not stop talking about. After seeing it for the first time in the St. Paul Saints team store, Anders knew that one day he had to have it. “He kept mentioning it, he sent the picture to his friends, and they kept talking about The Jacket," his wife Lauren said.
With Anders’ birthday approaching, Lauren knew exactly what to get him. The gold cord had already earned a reputation in their circle, so when he opened the gift his reaction said it all: “Oh my god, it’s the jacket.” Once he had the jacket in person, it became irresistible once his friends started trying it on. And one by one, Anders and each of his friends had the jacket.
Soon enough, the jacket became a city-wide obsession. The community of St. Paul took to X and BlueSky to discuss the new staple of St. Paul with photos of their newly acquired Vintage Cords, memes, and a boosted pride in the city itself. Quickly after the wave of online buzz the Saints had fully sold out of the jackets, and now a much-anticipated pre-order for May is taking place.
