Social Distortion

Social Distortion came out of Orange County’s punk scene with Mike Ness’s songwriting and rough-edged voice at the center. Across records including Mommy’s Little Monster and their self-titled album, the band brought country, blues, and early rock ’n’ roll influences into a powerful guitar sound. Songs such as “Story of My Life” and “Ball and Chain” turn personal mistakes and hard-won perspective into choruses built to be sung together.
