Formed in 1901, the Denver Bears stood as a cornerstone of minor league baseball and later became a longtime affiliate of the New York Yankees, cultivating stars like Tony Oliva, Jim Leyland, and Felipe Alou. From their early days at Bears Field, later known as Mile High Stadium, the team helped shape the city’s rich sports heritage.
