The Altons come from Southeast Los Angeles, making music that draws on the region’s deep relationship with soul records, backyard gatherings, and late-night radio. Their songs combine warm guitar tones, close vocal exchanges, and the patient pull of a good ballad. Releases through Penrose Records, including “When You Go (That’s When You’ll Know)” and “Tangled Up in You,” have helped bring that local sound to listeners further afield.
