Wilco formed in Chicago in 1994 around songwriter Jeff Tweedy following the end of Uncle Tupelo. The band moved beyond its early country-influenced sound through records such as Being There, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, and the Grammy-winning A Ghost Is Born. Their catalog makes room for plainspoken songs, studio experiments, and extended guitar passages, held together by Tweedy’s attention to everyday language and the uncertainty beneath it.
