Zulu

Zulu brought a distinct perspective to heavy music by placing hardcore and powerviolence beside soul, funk, and other sounds from Black musical traditions. The Los Angeles band’s early EPs led to A New Tomorrow, a debut album that made those connections part of its structure rather than an occasional detour. The result is music that carries intensity and joy together, with songs about identity, perseverance, and the importance of community.
