This premium navy tee translates the collaboration into a simple front-and-back graphic story. A red heart at the left chest holds Tacoma’s script “R,” pairing the band’s name and emotional songwriting with one of the Rainiers’ most recognizable marks. The compact front graphic keeps the piece understated from the front while introducing the central symbol repeated throughout the collection. Across the back, The Head and the Heart wordmark is joined by the collection’s illustrated ballplayer character and additional Tacoma details. The arrangement feels equal parts show poster and baseball program, connecting the band’s handmade folk identity with the visual tradition of Minor League Baseball.
The Head and the Heart are a Seattle-rooted indie folk band formed in 2009, whose story began in open-mic performances at Ballard’s Conor Byrne Pub before their self-titled debut became a breakthrough release through hometown label Sub Pop. The Tacoma Rainiers are a Pacific Coast League team established in 1960, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners since 1995, and the longtime residents of Cheney Stadium.
