The Heart of Tacoma Tee brings the collection’s story to a warm, earth-toned premium tee inspired by the natural palette of the Pacific Northwest. A red heart is placed at the left chest, while the back expands the idea with The Head and the Heart’s stacked lettering and the collaboration’s original illustrated character. The artwork treats the band name as the emotional center of the design, framed by Tacoma baseball imagery and rendered with the loose, hand-drawn character of a concert graphic. The result reflects two local institutions built around gathering people together, whether around a song or a summer night at Cheney Stadium.
The Head and the Heart are a Seattle-rooted indie folk band formed in 2009, whose story began in open-mic performances at Ballard’s Conor Byrne Pub before their self-titled debut became a breakthrough release through hometown label Sub Pop. The Tacoma Rainiers are a Pacific Coast League team established in 1960, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners since 1995, and the longtime residents of Cheney Stadium.
