The R City Hoodie layers Tacoma baseball history into a relaxed piece of Pacific Northwest outerwear. Tacoma’s fan-favorite script “R,” elevated to an official secondary mark in 2015, is embroidered at the chest and repeated through the collection’s heart motif. Red drawcords and a red-lined hood connect the body of the hoodie to the Rainiers’ longstanding navy-and-red identity. The back features the collection’s illustrated character beneath The Head and the Heart’s hand-rendered lettering, giving the hoodie the scale and presence of classic tour merchandise. Additional sleeve artwork extends the story beyond the central back graphic and ties the piece into the collection’s broader system of hearts, team marks and hand-drawn symbols.

The Head and the Heart are a Seattle-rooted indie folk band formed in 2009, whose story began in open-mic performances at Ballard’s Conor Byrne Pub before their self-titled debut became a breakthrough release through hometown label Sub Pop. The Tacoma Rainiers are a Pacific Coast League team established in 1960, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners since 1995, and the longtime residents of Cheney Stadium.
