PORTLAND, OREGON – Portland has a new spark lighting up its sports scene, and it arrives with noise, attitude, and a vision that feels unmistakably its own. Many local Portland soccer supporters gathered into the Lloyd Center last Tuesday for the reveal of Portland's newest soccer club, who would reveal themselves to be the Portland Cherry Bombs.

As part of their brand reveal the Cherry Bombs teamed up with Official League for a club debut collection of over 20 premium headwear and apparel items. The club name and branding was inspired by the riot grrrl movement of the 1990s that took over the pacific northwest.

“We built the Cherry Bombs to embody everything that makes Portland electric, fearless creativity, unapologetic individuality, and the belief that sports can be a canvas for culture,” said Alan Miller, President of COLLiDE. “This team isn’t just joining the W League, it’s detonating a new era for women’s soccer in the Northwest.”

With this influence and inspiration in mind, Official League crafted a collection designed to match the creativity and individual expression that makes Portland unique. When the curtain dropped to reveal the Cherry Bombs’ identity, the full collection stood ready to bring the crest to life through a lineup of premium new pieces.

The bold, lound energy stitched into each item of Official League's Club Debut Collectionruns through everything the club touches. Their rallying cry, “Strike the Fuse,” captures the electricity they hope to bring to the city and reflects the spark behind their name, inspired by the 1976 anthem “Cherry Bomb” by The Runaways.

The Cherry Bombs are set to begin play in May of 2026, competing in the USL W Northwest division.
